How to Get a Library Card

Permanent Resident

*A permanent resident is one who has a permanent residence within the Fallsburg Central School District* All permanent residents of the Fallsburg Central School District, age 18(+), are eligible for a FREE library card with photo ID and current proof of residence. If a PO Box is listed on your photo ID, you must bring in one of the following with your street address:

  • Tax bill
  • Deed of property ownership
  • Electric bill in your name
  • Voter registration card

Minors of permanent residents can be issued a free library card as well with the permission/signature of their parent and/or legal guardian.
Replacement for lost cards will be given for a $1.00 charge.

Temporary Resident

*A temporary resident is one who does not have a permanent residence in the Fallsburg Central School District and resides in the Fallsburg Central School District for less than six (6) months out of the year*
Temporary residents can apply for a 1 year membership for $35.00 per card.

This card is guaranteed for the Fallsburg Library ONLY. Other libraries within the RCLS system may accept use of the card at their discretion. Photo ID and two (2) addresses are required with proof (one permanent, one temporary), as well as a current cell phone number, or 2 current numbers for both residences.

Internet Only

The Fallsburg Library also offers a $5.00, 1 year Internet only card.
This card can ONLY be used at Fallsburg Library and is only good for use on the computers. No items can be loaned out on this card.

Please note: Fallsburg Library is a member of RCLS, so residents who possess a RCLS card may use that card at the Fallsburg Library.
